Aimed at the portable live sound market is the Milan MI5 digitally self-powered 15" 2-way loudspeaker and matching Milan MI8 18" 1kW digitally powered subwoofer, together with a brand new multi-purpose Compact loudspeaker range equally suited to portable or fixed installation applications, as well as the four-channel Class D RACK-DP50 with fully featured USB or network-controlled DSP processing platform.
The Milan series incorporates proprietary technology found in Turbosound's high end concert touring products and is designed with musicians, DJs and small installs in mind. Milan features high efficiency Class D amplifiers which give the most output from lightweight portable packages, along with sophisticated DSP to ensure optimum audio quality and driver protection at all levels and in any venue. Milan's two-channel onboard mixer accommodates a range of dynamic microphones and line level sources, and provides a flexible platform from which to extend system capability without the need for external mixers.
"Turbosound's ongoing development programme offers class-leading engineering standards to all the markets we address. With the Milan MI5 and MI8 bass making their European debut here - having already shipped 2000 units - this represents a significant development for the gigging musician or small rental firm alike. Two MI5s and an MI8 sub offers a serious PA and access to our signature sound at price point never previously available," says sales director Dom Harter.
Making their debut at prolight+sound, the all-new Compact series offers four passive two-way loudspeakers, and a choice of two bandpass subwoofers. Designed to be discreet in permanent installs, the Compact series cabinets feature concealed pole mount sockets and rear handles for an unobtrusive appearance, while being equally suited to portable use.
The Compact series comprises the 8" two-way TCX-8, 10" two-way TCX-10, 12" two-way TCX-12, and 15" two-way TCX-15 passive loudspeakers, plus TCX-15B and TCX-18B subwoofers, all with Speakon NL4 and barrier strip connectors. Internal M10 rigging points are provided for use with Turbosound wall and ceiling brackets, and also for OmniMount loudspeaker mounting hardware.
The Compact series is supported by the latest GLL data file format for use with the EASE acoustic simulation programme.
Turbosound will be also showing its groundbreaking Flex Array system in both regular and wide dispersion variants, and in tri-amped and self-powered configurations.
"The new Compact line offers best-in-class performance and an updated component set over the range predecessors, making up a major part of our business. We are confident the new products will continue to build our brand," concludes Harter. "Having shipped the 3000th Flex Array cabinet in February and with the launch of our integrated amplifier and DSP package RACK-DP50, we know this is going to be a great show for us and our growing user base."
Combining four discrete 1250 watt Class D amplifier channels in a lightweight 2U package, the RACK-DP50 offers an economical amplifier rack with extremely high power density. TurboDrive control software is built right into the DSP platform, allowing network control of multiple devices with comprehensive fault logging.
