The Vector systems in Northern Ireland were immediately put in to use on the BBC Proms in the Park. There were outdoor concerts in several of the main regions, all contributing to the main network show, including a live link between all the regions in turn. The venue was the grounds of Belfast City Hall with performances from the Ulster Orchestra with conductor Kenneth Montgomery, along with the City of Derry Youth Choir and Codetta with percussionist Evelyn Glennie, soloists Denise Leigh and Jane Gilchrist and Cliona Doris on harp.
Lighting Director for the show was Philip Brines, with the Vector operated by John Gallagher who comments, "The Proms this year was a very busy show, but we were very pleased with the results and how the Vector performed."
Granada Television in Manchester bought its system via its own resource company 3SixtyMedia from Compulite reseller Flashlight in Manchester. Granada console operator Taras Kochan reports, "We often have a very tight turnaround for our productions and it was essential that the console we opted for was fast to programme and completely dependable."
