With a tight budget and a very broad range of equipment needs, Wilson was looking for a supplier that could deliver a large selection of products, excellent value, and superior service. He found all three at White Light and worked with business development manager Jonathan Haynes to put together a working list of products for demo at White Light's base in Wimbledon. "I was able to see similar units side by side and properly evaluate them. That resource was invaluable in making informed choices about products," said Wilson.
The new equipment would have two essential requirements: flexibility for a wide range of looks and compatibility with the exiting rig. After debating the options, the University of Roehampton invested in more than a dozen new fixtures including Coemar Infinity Spot Ms, JB Lighting A8 LED Washes, and Core Lighting ColourPoint uplighters.
To complete the lighting system, the university also invested in the ArKaos Pro Stage Server - a media server designed to produce smooth visuals that can be easily triggered using a few DMX channels. With the new server's vast built in library of high quality digital media, the university will now be able to achieve complex visual imagery with the touch of a button.
Wilson commented, "To enable us to provide the highest level of technical resources to our students, whose requirements cover performances in multiple venues both indoor and out, flexible units were key to our criteria. We were very impressed with all of the equipment White Light supplied. The A8s in particular will enable us to add real flexibility to our rig, due to the excellent output and zoom function the units have. The ColourPoint uplighters have already been put to good use. Their lightweight construction and superb light output makes them a great resource for both indoor and outdoor performances."
