UK / Middle East - Van Damme has expanded its presence in the Middle East by appointing NMK Electronics Enterprises as distributor for its entire range of cable products. NMK will also distribute generic VDC Trading products such as patchbays and connectors.

Founded by Nicolaos M. Kyvernitis in 1985 and based in the United Arab Emirates, NMK is representing the Van Damme and VDC Trading range in Dubai, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Cyprus.

NMK's Business Development Manager, Chicco Hiranandani, says: "We are extremely delighted to have Van Damme and VDC Trading products in our portfolio. Their quality and reputation reflect NMK's desire to be a leading distributor in the professional audio industry."

The Van Damme range of audio and video cables has been designed, engineered and refined over many years to suit customer requirements. Many new and innovative ideas have been incorporated to enable the range to cater for any eventuality - from eco-friendly to user friendly, from architectural installation to the rigours of live band touring. Among the latest additions is the Van Damme Musician Series, a range of high quality hand terminated instrument, speaker and microphone cables.

Andy Dennis, senior account manager at VDC Trading, adds: "In recent years we have attracted a lot of business from pro audio, broadcast and live sound customers in the Middle East. We are delighted that NMK has come on board as our distributor as it enables us to expand our customer base in the region and offer a much faster and more effective supply chain."

NMK began trading as a small rental company handling pro audio PA and lighting systems. It soon expanded into audio and lighting product distribution, acquiring exclusive Middle East distributorships for many of the most reputed audio and lighting product manufacturers. Among the products it handles are Shure, Electro-Voice, Klark Teknik, Midas, Telex/RTS, t.c.electronics, Rane, Cloud and Pulsar.

"The landscape of pro-audio distribution in the UAE is evolving," says Hiranandani. "We now have a sales team where each person focuses on their market segments, such as broadcast sound, installed sound and live sound. We aim to build on this by further developing the team and our product portfolio."
