Vari-Lite European sales manager Simon Roose and LDDE sales manager Markus Komertzky at PLASA.
Vari-Lite Inc has entered into a partnership with LDDE Vertriebs GmbH, granting the Vienna-based dealer rights to the sale of Vari*Lite products in Austria. Through the distribution agreement, Austrian customers will have direct local access to first-class sales, service and support of Vari*Lite products, including the recently-introduced Series 3000 product line, which includes the 1200W VL3000 Spot and VL3000 Wash luminaires. Through LDDE, customers can also purchase the highly popular Series 2000 products and the award-winning VL1000 ellipsoidal reflector spotlight.

"The Austrian market is established and holds good potential for Vari-Lite," said Vari-Lite vice-president of sales and marketing, Bob Schacherl: "We are excited about the opportunities that the partnership with LDDE presents. LDDE is well-respected within the Austrian lighting industry for its quality and customer service, which is what made them an attractive addition to our respected dealer network."

LDDE specializes in the stage, studio and architectural lighting industries. The company's clients include some of the most prestigious theatres, museums and universities in the region. In addition, LDDE has a strong foothold within the Austrian television industry, and some of the most discerning lighting directors choose LDDE to fulfil their lighting needs. "We are thrilled to finally be able to offer Vari*Lite automated lighting fixtures to our customers," said LDDE sales manager Markus Komertzky. "The Vari-Lite name means the best in automated lighting. LDDE is committed to delivering high quality products and services to the lighting professionals we work with on a daily basis."

LLDE is currently enjoying the positive response to the Ultimate X-PEN, which the company successfully launched at PLASA 2002 last month. X-PEN is a tool that can check the USITT DMX-512 protocol and act as a torch light at the same time. The combination measuring tool and torch light, which can be turned on and off without a switch, shows seven LED segments of all important indicators of the USITT DMX-512 protocols, and it helps to differentiate between DMX lines.
