The Van Damme Black Series reduced OD 2- and 4-core 4mm cables are engineered to have the lowest possible overall diameter
UK - VDC Trading will be showcasing a selection of the latest products from Van Damme Cable, including the Black Series reduced OD speaker cable and the Digi-Tour AES/DMX multicore, at PLASA Focus Leeds, held at The Royal Armouries from 9-10 May.
The Van Damme Black Series reduced OD 2- and 4-core 4mm cables are engineered to have the lowest possible overall diameter. They are commonly used with speaker multipins for amplifier break ins or speaker breakouts and help to keep truck weight down. The cables are double extruded; the first extrusion encloses the inner conductors and the second extrusion gives a smooth and round outer jacket.
Van Damme Digi-Tour multicores are mechanically and electrically based on the Van Damme Green Series range, but they feature a matt black outer jacket for on-stage use and discrete rigging. 110-Ohm characteristic impedance makes them ideal for both AES/EBU digital audio and DMX512 lighting control signals.
Also on show in Leeds is the Van Damme Tourlight HMA Assemblies. Already established in the broadcast and touring markets, the HMA connector’s expanded beam lens system offers greater resilience to dirt and contamination. Also ideal for the touring market are the Van Damme Tourlight OM3 multimode and OS1 single mode fibre cables. The Tourlight range has been accredited by Neutrik for use with its OpticalCON connector and can be supplied terminated to length in VDC’s state-of-the-art fibre laboratory, which has also been Class A COCA approved by Neutrik.
Finally, the Van Damme TourCat Cat 7 S/FTP is a tactical polyurethane (PUR) jacketed 0.56mm solid conductor cable with individually screened pairs and overall braided screen. It is Fluke DTX1800 tested for Category 6A channel link performance up to 95 metres and Category 5E 1000BaseT up to 105 metres.
In addition, industry veteran and guitarist Cliff Brown will be providing live music on the VDC stand throughout the show. Cliff, of 633 Engineering, will be demoing his custom-built amps, which were recently included in Guitarist’s Gear of the Year, along with Van Damme Silver Series Hi-Cap and Lo-Cap instrument cables.
