Verbatim, a division of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, is the first major brand to offer these Classic A style LED lamps, which offer 75% energy savings over traditional incandescent bulbs and have a service life of 35,000 hours - or around 50 times that of a conventional bulb. To date, most LED lamp manufacturers have only introduced products with screw fittings to address the larger continental European market, or spotlights, both of which Verbatim also manufactures.
There are two B22 lamps, a 6.5W model designed to replace 25W incandescent light bulbs and a 10W version for replacing 40W bulbs. Both offer a warm white light with colour temperatures of 2700K and 3000K respectively. They are dimmable using standard dimmers and have a colour rendering index (CRI) of 80, the company says.
