UK - As part of a "world-wide shake-up", Vestax products are once again hitting high demand, with DJ endorsees including Carl Cox and US based DJ Qbert stressing their role in the club install market, according to UK distributor, Leisuretec Distribution.

Appearing at Brighton's Ocean Rooms this autumn, DJ Qbert & DJ Muzzell utilised the Vestax PMC-08Pro professional hybrid digital mixer and QFO system. Whereas the QFO is portable and ideal for scratch and trick mixes, the PMC-08 is the first scratch mixer with digital processing; a great install product that may be a hidden gem for venues, says Muzzell: "I got the PMC 08 a few days ago and didn't go out for 24 hours. It has an analogue-to-digital converter built in, which enables DJs to shape the sound very precisely. The up-faders are fantastic; they've got a new curve which means they cut in right at the top. Instead of having a long curve going from 0-10, it's about 8-10 - no other mixer has that type of fade, it's much more extreme. Another great built-in feature is the crossfader lag, you can change it so you can decide where you want the cut-in point to start. For usability it gives you loads of freedom. It's a great addition to a DJ booth and offers another level of opportunity and creativity for DJ's that perform at a venue."

With Vestax closing their UK offices in March 2006, Leisuretec Distribution took on exclusive UK distribution for all products. In just six months a renewed energy into the brand has seen rapid growth in dealer enthusiasm, with venues and DJs discovering products that have until now fallen into the 'well-kept-secret' category.

"The PMC-08 is well placed in club venues that host specialist DJs, continued Leisuretec Distribution managing director, Nick Spalding. "A recent install utilised the Vestax PMC-500 mixer for the main room. They also had a scratch and dance room and here used the smaller PMC-08s to give their DJs greater flexibility."

"If a club already has a large sound system and DJ booth but are going to have dance / trance DJs, they're going to need one of these types of mixers, and the PMC-08 is superb due to the analogue-to-digital processor. They also come in black or white to fit in with club aesthetics."
