"The fixtures and applications for LED technology are growing daily, allowing us to create astonishing new lighting effects and visuals, especially when applying them in matrixes. When using matrix formation, it is essential to find a system that is designed to control this in a fast, flexible and creative way," the company states. "On the lighting control side, very few traditional lighting boards can handle the control and programming of fixtures in a matrix formation, yet on the video side, to use a media server on such a DMX application would seem over the top"
Canvix covers a niche in the market where owners of a lighting board with no matrix capabilities can upgrade with the Canvix plug-in, updating their system to handle the newst technologies in LED lighting with only a limited investment.
"All that is required for this is our DMX Input device and the personality file to suit the customer's board. Working with the major lighting console manufacturers we already have personality files from over 10 manufacturers.
Canvix can run as stand alone or as a plug-in. Visual Productions are demonstrating this using a Pearl lighting console loaned for the purpose by Avolites.
