Anna Valley Displays, part of the Shooting Partners Group, introduced their Sanyo HD10 - the world's first true 16:9 high definition LCD projector. Currently only available in the UK from Anna Valley Displays, it delivers a 1920 x 1080 native resolution image and with 5,500 Lumen output. Tom Bird, Shooting Partners' head of sales and marketing, says: "We have already had a great response to the HD10 with applications ranging from the viewing of daily rushes to highly realistic backdrops for studio shoots." Complementing the HD10, Anna Valley also demonstrated its Sony HDCAM high definition cameras, the versatile Electrosonic Vector image controller and the eye-catching new JVC Cineclear Screen
Also new to the UK is Massteknik UK's Chromatek LVD-638 LED screen - which offers a high degree of clarity and image quality. Viewed from only a few meters away, it is hard to believe the screen is actually LED-based, say Massteknik: precision aligned LEDs deliver a uniform screen surface with virtually no image artefacts, and a 6mm physical pixel pitch allows true native HDTV capability at very short viewing distances. The overall image quality clearly differentiates Chromatek from other fine-pitch LED screens.
Massteknik UK and Anna Valley Displays also announced that they have entered an agreement allowing Anna Valley Displays to exclusively offer Massteknik's LVD-638 to its broadcast industry clients. Christopher Milnes of Massteknik confirms that, "All indoor TV studio applications for the Chromatek system will now go through Anna Valley Displays. They will effectively represent our Chromatek product within the television sector." He continues: "The relationship with Anna Valley Displays has already been extremely fruitful and we are looking forward to further developing our involvement with the broadcast sector through this relationship." Tom Bird adds: "Our new relationship with Massteknik has added another great weapon to our displays arsenal, we are confident in our ability to fulfil any creative brief thrown at us."
Event hosts VLPS demonstrated the new VirtuosoDX2 control console and Virtuoso EX1 Media Server, which is now available in rental stock. Digital media, in the form of projections graphics or video, is now a well-established creative tool for lighting designers, and VLPS's Virtuoso range allows the LD control over both lighting and digital media content from one console. Keith Duncan, account manager at VLPS said: "We are really pleased with how the open days went. There was particular interest in the new EX1, a product which takes a significant step forward in the media manipulation market."
