Inaugurated in 2000, Wakestock is Europe's largest wakeboard competition, attracting some of the world's best riders who compete for the title of Wakestock Champion. Each year's event is supported by a two-night live music festival that has previously featured appearances from top DJs and bands such as the Zutons, The Automatic, Carl Cox & Friends, Athlete, Soul II Soul, Judge Jules, Goldie Lookin' Chain, DJ Yoda and Reef.
VME has had a long association with the Festival, supplying both sound and lighting equipment. For the 2007 event, VME will employ its two new Series FIVE consoles for Front of House and Monitor mixing. The consoles will also be used for other projects throughout the year, either singly or together in standard FOH/Monitor configuration.
"These desks are ideal for Festival work because they are so easy to use," Dion Davie says. "They represent very good value for money and we are confident that Soundcraft and Harman Pro UK can provide any technical after sales support we might require. The live sound industry is moving towards digital consoles but on a day-to-day level it is reliable analogue technology that we need. This is exactly what the Series FIVE offers and we feel it is the ideal console to tide us through until demand for digital increases."
