Grupo Vidanta is one of the leading South American hotel chains, with several resorts including Grand Luxxe, Grand Bliss, Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace. Grupo Vidanta approached RED Lighting to manage the installations for all the chain's new hotels.
Santuario is a luxury hotel and entertainment resort, complete with a large lounge, bars, discotheques, theatre and live entertainment. For these areas, RED Lighting installed 200 of their own brand Quadro 10 and Quadro 24 fixed projectors. The fixtures chosen have an IP65 protection rating, which permits outdoor use - essential for a facility like Santuario with open air sections.
Several Classe S700 moving head projectors are used as well, each with one colour wheel with eight colours plus white and two wheels with six and seven indexable gobos plus white. Lighting designer is Pat Henry of Pat Henry IluminaciĆ³n S. A. de C. V.
All of the RED Lighting fixtures installed have W-DMX built inside. Signal is delivered via 3 W-DMX BlackBox F-1 G4 MK2 wireless transmitters. The project is considered a huge success and is the first of various similar installations.
Franco Natali of RED Lighting said, "We at RED Lighting use W-DMX in most of our products as we believe it is the safest way to go wireless with DMX. This is why we are considering the possibility to integrate the transmitter into our console too."
