"We had taken stock of the new Martin system only a couple of weeks earlier, and we had the entire 32-box system straight out on duty," reports RG Jones project manager, Simon Hodge. Measuring 11m from the ground to the top of the hang, and complemented by six Synco subs per side (plus fills and delays), the system was operating under an XTA 224 system control and rigged in a Summit Steel grid.
"We used Martin's ViewPoint software to set the curves," continued Hodge, "while the benefit of the XTA processor is that it addresses different elements of the system, which benefits the tapering from the top to bottom of the array."
Added Simon, who as well as designing the sound system, project managed the event for RG Jones, "We ran the Compact Line Array reasonably flat - and so far we just love it. It was a joy to use, both in terms of the ease it went in and out and the way it sounded. What was particularly impressive was the amount of gain before feedback - there was loads of headroom in the system."
