This follows the original audio design and installation that was completed by CP Sound in 2002, including JBL speakers, a Rolec computer music system and RSE amplification. The entrance area has been jazzed up with the addition of five MADColor MBI 150 colour changing fixtures, controlled by a Raving MAD DMX controller, specified for its simplicity and ease of operation. Push button control offers a pre-selection of different lighting modes - 'mood', 'chill', 'dance' and 'mad'.
CP's Colin Pattenden recommended the addition of a JBL sub bass speaker to boost sound 'feel' inside the entrance. Downstairs in Waxy's main Church Bar, Pattenden and his team added four HTI 150 Arc discharge Power Flower lighting effects. These produce multi fingers of light reminiscent of the original rave lighting effect, the Strobeflower. However, these are much more reliable and have a 2000 hour lamp life all controlled via a new MAD remote controller with a simple up/down button.
The original installation contains speakers from the JBL Control series - 28s, 25s, 25Ts, 24CTs in the ceiling and five SB2 subs. The venue is split into eight sound zones controlled via a Cloud Z8 zoner. CP Sound also specified and installed the DJ booth, which includes a flight-cased Citronic 10:4 mixer, a Denon twin CD player.
