This year was the third time in which White Light has worked on the event, collaborating closely with Timebased Events who organised proceedings. Katy Haile, client services director at Timebased Events, states: "The Glamour Awards expect a high quality level of service and we are constantly pushing ourselves in an attempt to make them the best they can possibly be. As it is important for us to achieve a certain feel and artistry, it is equally as important that the companies we work with, such as White Light, find ways to help us achieve this".
Led by White Light's project manager Richard Stirzaker, he comments: "This was a really exciting event. The Glamour Awards receive a lot of great coverage and it gives us the opportunity to work in an environment where the highest of standards are expected - standards which match our own."
This year's ceremony attracted more high-profile attendees than ever before. The awards distributed include Best Radio Personality for Fearne Cotton, Best TV Personality for Rita Ora, Best Sportswoman for Laura Trott, Best Theatre Actress for Gillian Anderson and Best Entrepreneur for Kate Hudson. The Male of the Year award was taken home by the DJ Calvin Harris.
As the stars made their way along the red carpet, the actual ceremony took place inside several outdoor marquees. Richard states: "As the venue was being created specifically for the awards, we only had two days to set everything up so timing was one of the key elements in the pre-production stages". Katy comments: "One of the challenges we face is trying not only to match but exceed the expectations from the previous year's event. Lighting plays a big role in this. As we are trying to make the event the best it can possibly be, this may require some last minute changes and certain nuances. Fortunately White Light has always been extremely responsive and able to fulfil any request we had".
