The recent production marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens was held at London's Guildhall
UK - Entertainment lighting specialist White Light supplied equipment and support services to Mr Dickens and the Actors, the recent production marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens held at London's Guildhall and attended by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

The event featured some of Britain's leading actors - including Sir Derek Jacobi, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Bond, Stephanie Cole, Matthew Kelly and Samantha Spiro as well as performers from the Chicken Shed theatre company - performing some of Dickens' most memorable characters, from novels including Great Expectations, Oliver Twist and Nicholas Nickleby. The event was held in support of the Royal Theatrical Fund, of which the Queen is patron.

White Light was brought in to help with the project by Peter Roberts and lighting designer Alistair Grant, to provide both a lighting rig to transform the room for the performance, and a production team to get the rig in, up and working and then to pack it all up and take it away again after the show.

"White Light was extremely helpful in putting this Royal event together," notes Peter Roberts. "While the event itself was relatively simple it had to be carried out to a very tight schedule. White Light's experience in this field was invaluable and its team on site went beyond the call of duty to achieve everything. The results were excellent and the charity is very grateful for all the help it received."

"It was great to work with the team from White Light," adds Alistair Grant, "and I must thank them for their help in making Dickens and the Actors such a success."
