PiXL provides over 1,500 schools with access to vibrant, purposeful conferences and networks of people, alongside resources, training schemes and development programmes. The organisation also gives opportunities and support to all young people, regardless of their background or ability, in order for them to achieve their potential - something which was highlighted at this year's Celebrating Success event.
The awards were presented by food-entrepreneur Levi Roots, whilst live entertainment was interspersed throughout the evening. Opening with the Haishi Taiko Drummers, the event featured performances from the PiXL Choir, Highworth String Quartet, the Brockhill Divas alongside a screening of several short films. Andy Hook, WL's technical solutions director, comments, "The layout of the evening was quite challenging as not one performance was the same. Due to every act being so varied, it was vital we created a set-up which could adapt to this."
The ceremony took place in the Great Hall at Central Hall Westminster and saw WL draw on the entire range of its extensive equipment. This included EM Acoustics EMS-121 loudspeakers, Martin Professional MAC Vipers, Christie Large-Format projectors and the ArKaos Stadium Server. Andy states, "With the Great Hall having the largest domed roof in Europe, this is always a fantastic space to work in. It allows us to get the most out of our video-mapping skills and ensure that the space becomes an integral part of any event - as it did on this occasion."
David Evans, director at PiXL, comments, "'WL provided the perfect service. The sound quality was superb, better than anything I've heard before in Central Hall Westminster, and the visuals and lighting were both splendid. Moreover, their staff were outstanding: professional, flexible and enthusiastic."
