The PIGI system of high-output projectors and automated double rotating film scrollers has powered the dramatic projections seen at many of the most memorable public events of recent years, including the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War 2 (both projects involving projection onto the front of Buckingham Palace), the Edinburgh Military Tattoo every year since 2005, the 800th Anniversary of Cambridge University, and New Year's Eve in London. The projectors have also been behind countless other shows in the fields of advertising, concerts, corporate events, theatre, television and more.
These shows have been conceived and designed by projection artist Ross Ashton, clearly demonstrating the potential of large format projections in the hands of a skilled expert. Ashton had also been running E/T/C in the UK, providing the projection equipment to the shows he designs. Now the demands of the many shows he is involved with world-wide means that he has decided to concentrate on designing the shows, handing over the practicalities of servicing, preparing and supplying the projection equipment to White Light.
"We are delighted that Ross has chosen to entrust to us the care of the PIGI projectors," comments White Light's managing director, Bryan Raven. "We have watched in awe many of the lightshows he has created, and hope that our new partnership will now free his time to create more spectacular work while allowing the staff here at White Light to do what we do best: preparing equipment to the highest standards, arranging the logistics, and getting everything into place for shows and events where you have one chance to get things right, and where the show must - and does - start right on time."
E/T/C UK's fleet of PIGI projectors, film scrollers and accessories joins the White Light hire stock with immediate effect, and are available for hire now. White Light will work with E/T/C UK and Ashton's new projection service company, The Projection Studio, to create projection material and film scrolls where required, and can supply a complete projection service for shows, buildings or events.
