UK - Christie has launched the Christie Virtual Remote projector app, providing an alternative to the standard IR remote control. Designed for the Android operating system, Christie Virtual Remote provides wireless control of all Christie 3-chip DLP projectors in the popular Christie M Series and Christie J Series projector families.

Christie Virtual Remote is suitable for applications including live events, trade shows, and projection mapping. Users in fixed installation applications such as boardrooms and classrooms, houses of worship, government facilities, and museums will also enjoy the convenience of controlling one or more projectors wirelessly from their Android smartphone or tablet.

"The Christie Virtual Remote app provides a Wi-Fi projector control alternative, while maintaining all the capabilities of the standard IR remote. The app also offers a visual interface of all connected projectors and the ability to save and load projector groups," said Joel St-Denis, value add product manager, Christie. "It's very versatile and can be used from anywhere. Users can scan for available projectors on the network to add them to a group, or manually type in the IP address of the desired projector."
