Emma Perrin and Justin Hammond of Wireless Lighting
UK - Wireless Lighting is a new company and online portal dedicated to the dry and cross hire of battery powered wireless lighting technologies for the show and event industry in and around London.

Founder Justin Hammond, who has been at the sharp end of the professional lighting, video and AV rental industry for eight years, spotted a gap in the market for quick, simple, reliable and no-nonsense service providing wireless lighting kit.

He states, "There's been a massive surge in popularity and use of wireless LED lighting over the last two years - there's no messing around with cabling, and the lighting fixtures can instantly transform any environment. Wireless Lighting is designed to provide a fast, efficient and straightforward service to all those wanting to make use of this technology on their events."

Clients can log in to the website, place their order, select a delivery / service option and have their kit delivered to site - prepped exactly as required. They can also opt to collect from / drop at Wireless Lighting's south London base if preferred.

The idea is to be as flexible as possible in every aspect of the service.

A selection of timed delivery / pick-ups are available or 'anytime' allowing battery powered LED fixtures to be delivered at the most convenient time either directly to the event or to the supplier's warehouse.

The equipment can be hired with or without a technician / for set up and de-rig and the fixtures can even be pre-set to pre-selected colours if required. This is a scenario ideal for those who are not specifically technical, but know what they want in terms of feature lighting for an event or party.

Hammond is pitching the business to three main sectors. The first is event technical providers and rental companies, the event organisers and manager's themselves and then the related but slightly different avenue which includes restaurants, hotels and venues who are hosting their own functions.

Wireless Lighting's approach to commercial activity is lively and proactive, and the company has already appointed Emma Perrin as sales manager, who will be out and about expanding the current and finding new business.

The company has also just taken delivery of over 120 of wireless LED specialist Core's latest ColourPoint v2 wireless battery powered up-lighters, making it currently the biggest stockholder of these fixtures for hire in the UK.

"Core make some of the best and most innovative wireless LED products on the market," comments Hammond, "So we decided to add to our already busy stock of Core Point30 battery LED floods with these latest ColourPoint v2 units."

A day-hire kit of 6 pre-charged units in a Peli case is available or the ColourPoint v2s can also be supplied in flightcases complete with inbuilt charging unit.

Initially Wireless Lighting will be operating in and around central and greater London and as business grows, it is planned to expand into other regions.
