USA - Wireless Solution Sweden AB has announced the winners of the W-DMX Visionary Awards, held on 17 November during LDI. The awards, given during a Swedish vodka-and-meatball party, congratulated two pioneers in W-DMX technology with a custom made GoldBox, along with other Swedish gifts. The W-DMX Visionary Award was created as a way to recognise individuals in the professional lighting industry who were early adopters of W-DMX and had an immediate vision about how it could be applied to great advantage in their respective production environments.

The first award was given to Joshua Thatcher with the Local 728 in Hollywood, who was the first to use W-DMX in a major feature film and continues to be the biggest such user in movies like Spiderman 3, Mission Impossible III and Transformers.

Valy Tremblay of Proluxon was also given a Visionary Award, for his use of W-DMX in Cirque du Soleil's Delirium and most recently for a Chantal Chamandy concert in Cairo with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra.

"We're very proud of the many ways in which W-DMX has been opening doors to new possibilities in lighting," said Niclas Arvidsson, international sales manager for Wireless Solution, "but the product alone couldn't do these things, which is why we wanted to recognize Josh and Valy for their outstanding use of the product."
