A complete new range of W-DMX products will be on display, including W-DMX T-512 Outdoor Transceiver, W-DMX Micro, and W-DMX D-512, the world's first wireless 3-way truss splitter. Two of these products have been entered for the PLASA Awards for Innovation - the D-512 and W-DMX Micro, a mini DMX receiver with built-in battery backup of 6-8 hours use, signal display indication and battery lifetime. As a bonus preview, the RDM specification on W-DMX will be shown for the first time at PLASA.
The company reports that 2006 has been a great year for W-DMX: in just eight months, over 5,000 units of W-DMX products have been shipped worldwide. The demand for safe plug-and-play wireless technology free from interference continues to increase. More OEM partners have joined the wave of manufacturers offering Wireless DMX in their equipment. The first product to offer W-DMX technology built inside a fixture was the SGM Giotto Synthesis. Most recently, the Alpha Range from Clay Paky, LSC Lighting from Australia, Swefog and Antari X-Series smoke machines have implemented W-DMX into their equipment.
In addition to new OEM partners, several new distributors have been appointed in key markets, including White Light in the UK and Lightpower in Germany.
Designed for theatre, corporate events, theme parks, and architectural applications, Wireless Solutions' W-DMX product is "a plug-and-play system that easily outclasses Wi-Fi-based arrangements," say Wireless Solutions. The system is the only dual-award-winning system, winning a 2004 PLASA Award and a 2005 LDI Award for Innovation for its W-DMX Outdoor IP65 Receiver. The system received rave reviews in the recent article, The Great Wireless DMX Shoot-Out, held by Lighting&Sound International magazine. Results can be found in the July-August 2006 issue of L&SI.
W-DMX by Wireless Solution has been used in high profile international projects such as the 2006 Football World Cup, the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the 2005 Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm, the Carnival in Venice and Cirque du Soleil's Delirium.
