The consoles have been installed in the main show lounge/nightclub of the Carnival Pride with a passenger capacity of 2,680 and her sister ship the Carnival Legend which sail primarily in the Caribbean out of Florida, while the third has been delivered to the Costa Mediterranea, which is still under construction and will be sailing in the Mediterranean upon her completion later this year.
Hedcom director, Jarmo Roivas says all the consoles are of the highest specification, including moving faders, XL3 sidecar, four auto-switch power supplies and a host of other features. "These cruisers are all designed to the very highest specification, and the same goes for all the AV and lighting equipment - only the best will do!" said Roivas. "In my opinion the XL4 is still the best console for this application that money can buy, so that’s what we supplied. These desks are actually worked pretty hard every night. They have to cope with a vast range of entertainment that changes nightly, hence the automation and recall functions are very important, and of course they have to be reliable. It’s no good the desk going down at 2am when the party is in full swing and you’re somewhere in the middle of the ocean! However, we know we can always rely on fantastic support from the factory in Kidderminster, hence the repeat orders, and we anticipate more in the future."
In addition to the consoles, Hedcom has also supplied a wide range of other audio, video and lighting equipment to the cruise liners via their installation partners.
