Mike Wheeler and Ed Kinsella.
Instigate Media, a newly formed Surrey-based loudspeaker manufacturer and audio rental/installation company, is specifying XTA DP Series digital loudspeaker processors for all of its products, following the use of two XTA DP224s during the R&D process for its Beamwidth Series of touring enclosures. A forthcoming range of loudspeakers will also be specified with DP224s.

Instigate Media is based in Godalming, Surrey, and is headed by Mike Wheeler and Ed Kinsella. The company has a number of different divisions, handling the hire and installation of sound systems of all sizes, including a hire division equipped with E.M. Acoustics loudspeaker systems. The installation division recently completed a contract in conjunction with Stage Electrics for a system at the Students’ Union at Imperial College, London. Mike Wheeler told us: "Our USP is that we design and build all our own loudspeakers. The Beamwidth Series is a high-powered touring rig and the new series, which we will be announcing later in the autumn, will help Instigate Media spread into the club and portable market. We decided to use XTA digital crossovers during our research and development process after having had great experiences with them in the past. We were blown away by the quality, reliability and ease of use of the DP224, and have therefore created presets for our established E.M. Acoustics systems."
