Yamaha's BR Series on debut at Frankfurt
Germany - At last week's ProLight+Sound in Frankfurt, Yamaha launched the BR Series of passive speakers - an all new five-strong range of front-of-house and monitor speakers designed for "discerning musicians and institutions on a budget".

All models deliver high output right across the frequency range, significantly out performing more expensive audio solutions, and will prove suitable for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications including schools, houses of worship, corporate events and performing musicians, says the company.

The BR Prefix represents Bass Reflex but also encompasses the terms - Built Right, Better Response and Best Reliability, all attributes that characterise the new range.

The compact BR cabinets are carefully designed and engineered to meet the exacting demands of the sound reinforcement professional with high power woofers delivering transparent, detailed and punchy sound whilst the pure titanium 1" compression driver ensures excellent high frequency response. Significant low frequency response is achieved thanks to Yamaha's BassReflex technology and the high frequencies benefit from newly designed titanium HF drivers and 90° x 40° non-resonant constant directivity horns.

Connectivity is handled by standard rear panel jack connectors making setup and cabling uncomplicated, simple and affordable. For added convenience all five models feature large steel handles mounted intelligently at each cabinet's centre of gravity while steel corner protectors reduce potential transit damage. All models also include integral pole sockets and the entire range will seamlessly integrate with Yamaha's range of EMX powered mixers and P series power amplifiers, say Yamaha.
