InterBee 2010 takes place from 17-19 November at the Makuhari Messe exhibition centre in Chiba, Japan.
Yamaha Console File Converter is a highly significant product which users have been consistently requesting since the M7CL and LS9 consoles were introduced, says the company. To be available as a free download, users will be able to use the software to convert file formats between the PM5D and M7CL, and the M7CL and LS9, providing unprecedented data compatibility between Yamaha digital mixing consoles.
The software means that audio companies will have flexibility in how they deploy Yamaha consoles, enabling them to swiftly react to changes in a production and how they prioritise their resources. For example, a PM5D could be brought in to replace an M7CL if a show's technical requirements expand during rehearsals, or an LS9 substituted if the higher specification console is required elsewhere at short notice.
In all cases, using Yamaha Console File Converter, the mix data that was created on the original console can be simply and quickly transferred to the alternative mixer, saving a huge amount of time and effort.
"We are delighted to launch these two significant software products at this year's InterBee show," says Karl Christmas, deputy general manager of Yamaha Commercial Audio (UK).
"It is one more step in our ongoing quest to give our customers what they really need, based on feedback from the field. The file converter software is a utility that will have a significant impact on the efficiency of work in the 'front line' and we are committed to improving the flexibility and ease of use of our digital consoles by continued firmware upgrades.
"These products answer many requests from users and we are happy to provide them at no cost."
Both Yamaha Console File Converter and the M7CL Version 3.5 update will be available from this winter, downloadable at no charge from the Yamaha Pro Audio web site.
