YSS has invested in KV2 Audio's flagship VHD System
UK - Yorkshire Stage and Sound Ltd. are one of the latest UK events production companies to add KV2 Audio products to their hire inventory.

Based between Harrogate and York, Yorkshire Stage and Sound are ideally situated to offer full event production - including lighting, generator hire, power distribution and full event management, as well as staging and sound as the name suggests - throughout Yorkshire but also nationwide.

Director Mike Redpath has long been a fan of KV2 Audio's True Point Source approach to loudspeaker design. Over the last few years YSS has invested in a selection of products from the active EX range, passive ESM monitor range as well as a complete Active-Driven ES System. The early investment with KV2 was made to replace systems by one of the more "established" manufactures, with KV2's products offering quicker set-up time, smaller transport requirements and superior sonic results.

Mike recalls, "I turned up with my smallest EX rig for a band gig - two EX10 tops and two EX 2.2 subs. The bands looked confused and thought that there was nowhere near enough equipment. I reassured them that the gig would be excellent and they should wait to see how sound check goes. The bands were blown away with what came out of such a small rig - a regular occurrence."

As YSS's events grew in size and scale Mike took the decision to invest in Bertha - a trailer-based full sized concert stage spanning 12m and one of the largest of its kind in the Yorkshire region.

To compliment this purchase Mike needed an audio system capable of covering the large outdoor events that this stage is intended to cater for. Once again Mike had no hesitation in turning to KV2 Audio, this time taking the decision to invest in KV2 Audio's flagship VHD System.

"Whether it is the smallest EX product or our complete VHD System the saying that always comes to mind to describe KV2 products is 'small but mighty'," Mike comments. "The VHD tops being so powerful yet compact make it incredibly simple to get the system in the air with Bertha. If I looked at a Line Array solution I would have to spend hours rigging and setting the system up to end up with inferior results - especially as all these sized events are outside where the unpredictable weather elements can play havoc with multi point systems."
