Denmark - dbx Professional Products, a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of professional signal processing products and a division of Harman International has provided a signal distribution solution for a new hotel wellness and conference facility in Denmark.

Situated in the idyllic surroundings of Snekkersten, in Denmark's North Seeland, Comwell Borupgaard Hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation with the opening of its Body & Mind Spa. This has met the increased demands for qualitative meeting facilities and relaxation from delegates within the business community. In this simple, beautiful and sensuous universe - created by Bente Midelbye of TO B Design, the main focus is on silence and tranquility.

The task facing Morten Paulsen from Pro Event, Frederiksværk who supervised the audio installation, was to meet the psycho-acoustic requirements of this spa, massage and lounge area whilst retaining the original atmosphere.

The interior is Japanese inspired and all the senses - visual, aural and smell - are subtly stimulated as clients undergo the many luxury treatments. At the same time the installer sensed that ease of operation and discreet componentry would also need to assume high priority.

The sound technician has long been an advocate of Harman Professional's integrated technology, and he knew that the optimum solution could be provided from within the product catalogues of the brands.

Fed from CD sources, white Control 24 Micro recessed ceiling speakers provide invisible sound reinforcement, while volume control and source selection is under the command of dbx ZC2 & ZC9 remote wall panels.

While the ZC-9 provides source selection for the four dbx ZonePRO 1261's, which handle system management and signal routing throughout the seven zone facility, the ZC-2 provides programmable volume control and muting. The system is powered by a Crown CP660 6-channel amplifier.

Paulsen says: "The dbx ZonePRO provided the obvious solution, preserving the transparency of the ambient music sources. The result is a very relaxed sound."

This is the Comwell Group's first hotel in Denmark and their next stop on the map will be the 5-star Comwell Kellers Park Hotel & Spa which is scheduled to open near Vejle in Jutland in July 2007.
