The Netherlands - Audio-Technica is to showcase its flagship, four-diaphragm AT5040 cardioid condenser microphone alongside an array of conference system and installation microphone products at this year's ISE exhibition at Amsterdam's RAI venue between 29-31 January.

The AT5040 heralded the launch of Audio-Technica's 50 Series in 2012 and has attracted significant interest from press and public alike since its arrival. Every AT5040 is hand-built and inspected for 100% quality control and is housed in an elegant case of aluminium and brass with grey chrome plating for durability and low reflectivity. Discreet components have been selected for optimised capsule performance, with every aspect of the microphone carefully considered to minimise any effects on the audio signal.

Sweden - Experienced Swedish lighting designer Henrik Lundin is discovering that SGM's new X-5 LED strobes are making an increasingly powerful contribution to his show designs.

A member of the successful Stockholm-based company Satellite Live, since touring with eight of the new white strobes from the newly set-up SGM Sweden (headed by Mikael Uddh), he has never looked back.

One of the latest dance extravaganzas to undertake an extensive club tour with the strobes has been electro/hip hop group Maskinen (The Machine). "Because we were often visiting clubs with limited access to power, the X-5, with its low power draw when compared with the traditional energy hungry xenon sources, became a natural choice," he says.

The X-5 is not only a high-efficiency white LED strobe but its astonishing power is harnessed in an extremely compact form factor. By combining LED techn

Germany - An increasing number of modern sound reinforcement systems require real-time monitoring of the loudspeaker lines. This is especially true in the context of evacuation systems, in which long loudspeaker circuits comprising many smaller, high-impedance boxes are often required. The Electro-Voice CPS series and Dynacord DSA series multichannel amplifiers already provide 100-volt-line direct drive operation for these types of loudspeaker circuits but in the past supervision of such Hi-Z lines was not practical due to the high impedance characteristics of the load.

The LML-1 (Loudspeaker Measuring Load) allows the real-time monitoring of loudspeaker lines in Hi-Z sound reinforcement systems. With the LML-1 module, it is now possible, even in large installations - such as those in stadiums or shopping centres - for smaller 100-volt loudspeakers, in entrance areas, lobbies or
