Personnel from Aethra and Speednet are providing six dedicated videoconferencing rooms fully equipped with state-of-the-art Aethra vc solutions, including the set-top systems Vega X5 and Vega X3 and the next-generation videophone Maia XC.
These videoconferencing services are available during the event to the 60 heads of state and government and their delegations, the 1500 national and foreign accredited journalists following the proceedings, the event organization committee and the Peruvian Minister of External Relations.
The dedicated videoconferencing rooms will be utilized in particular for the press, for the distribution of press materials, for diplomatic coordination and include a private videoconferencing room for State Presidents and their delegates.
In addition, an Aethra AVC 8500 codec equipped with audio/video accessories and external cameras is to be installed in the main auditorium, an area which offers a maximum capacity of 1200.
The international summit is being held in Peru from May 12-17 and the 60 heads of state and government will gather in Lima on 16 May in what has been described as "one of the most important political gatherings outside the United Nations ever to be held in the New World".
The Heads of State of 33 Latin American and Caribbean countries and 27 from the European Union will examine specific initiatives on the two major themes of the meeting, "Poverty, inequality and inclusion and Sustainable Development: the environment, climate change and energy".
