Joining the team of Clay Paky fixtures, the Mythos, the Stormy, the SuperSharpy is the brand new Scenius. This moving head spotlight boasts a 95 CRI light quality and a wide 80-500 zoom combined with all the sophisticated features one would expect from Clay Paky. Also attracting interst was the Spheriscan, a whole new take on the scanner light of the 90s; its mirror has a continuous pan rotation with speeds of up to 250 rpm. And it is bright - very bright; a necessary ingredient to compete successfully with all its Clay Paky siblings.
Ayrton has continued to build on their successful range of luminaires by showcasing four, new to the UK, LED fixtures. The Magicdot-R, a superfast beam light that is already attracting orders from UK rental companies; the DreamPanel-Shift and DreamPanel-Twin and the CosmoPix-R, an entirely new take on the legendary 80's double rotation spheres. Now with continuous rotation and an endless variety of options for controlling the new multi-chip RGBW LED emitters, the CosmoPix-R is anything but retro.
Proving a phenomenal success with smaller venues and those who like to check their control desks in as hand luggage, the dot2 from MA Lighting was available for a hands-on demonstration in its various configurations. Along with its accessory wings the dot2 F-wing and the dot2 B-wing and the dot2 Node4, this little desk continues to amaze operators with its power, flexibility and features.
Robert Juliat were rightly celebrating winning a PLASA Innovation Award for DALIS, their new 300W LED Cyclorama fixture. The judges concluded, "The colour rendering from this product is beautiful. The fixture is well designed and elegant with a very good uniform beam pattern and will no doubt be a feature of many stages in the future."
Ambersphere marketing manager, Martha Gall, summed up the event succinctly, "Ambersphere Solutions had an extremely successful PLASA 2015. In addition to catching up with valued clients we were pleased with the calibre of new visitors we spoke to at the show."
