Aviom has identified training as a top priority in 2008. "There's a lot of interest in audio distribution and networking, but there's also a lot of uncertainty and confusion," says Lange. "Good, reliable information is critical to helping consultants and contractors make good design decisions. This year's training programme marks the beginning of an ongoing effort on Aviom's part to support its sales channels and end users."
Training will include both sales and technical topics and will be conducted through a variety of formats, including online webinars and formal classroom-style sessions. Formal sessions will begin this summer.
As part of the programme, Aviom will be offering formalised certification at two levels. Level I Certification will focus on monitor mixing and simple digital snake applications, while Level II Certification will focus on the full range of applications, including the most sophisticated audio networks. Certified resellers will be given a priority listing on Aviom's website.
Aviom began offering formal training last year in response to customer interest. "People realised there's a lot more they can do with Aviom and A-Net than build monitor systems, and they came to us for more formalised guidance," adds Lange. "Aviom's Pro64 Series offers a powerful digital audio networking solution for which the market has been waiting. Now that we have the new 6416m Mic Input Module and all the building blocks for the system, we want to show people just how simple it is to distribute high-fidelity audio without limiting system design and without jumping through a lot of hoops."
