The new firmware encompasses a simple BCL programme added to Barix Exstreamer decoders and Annuncicom intercom/VoIP devices to enable a store and forward application. The store and forward application enables local playout at the destination from the Barix device, which communicates with the central server to initiate content updates over a network. Playlists can be updated to add new songs, ads and promos, with the possibility for local ad insertion when utilising contact closures within the Barix devices. Content can also be saved to a USB stick in the Exstreamer or Annuncicom to continue local playout in the event of network downtime.
Barix will also showcase products from all four product families for audio encoding (Instreamer), audio decoding (Exstreamer), intercom and voice over IP (Annuncicom) and control and automation (Barionet). All four product lines feature open-protocol Barix applications, available in source, to allow integrators and engineers to customize them for their own applications.
