As this year was the 10th anniversary of the festival, a fifth stage was added and a vast electic selection of hip hop, rock, reggae and techno artists invited to perform. French PA company Melpomen, which has provided PA support for the last decade, was able to utilise three generations of Nexo's Geo Series line array loudspeakers in their FOH systems.
For Nexo, this festival has always been a important platform to illustrate the benefits for larger stages in utilizing FOH systems based on cardioid technology. Out of the five stages, the two largest featured Geo T systems.
Making their first appearance at the festival, the NXAMP 4x4 power amplifiers were used to drive the subwoofers on the large Geo T stage. During the festival, Thierry Tranchant, director of Melpomen commented, "The NXAMP 4x4s displayed an unbelievable amount of output capacity; over the course of the three days the amplifiers' protection never came on, even with the loads that we were putting on them."
On the next two stages, the three-way cardioid GEO D10 enclosures were used as main PA, in conjunction with either Geo SUBs or CD18 bins, and the final stage had Nexo's newest system to date, exploiting the power and sound quality of the Geo S12 plug-and-play modules in tandem with the new RS 15 sub, deployed in cardioid mode, and also making its debut at the Solidays festival.
The RS 15 was also deployed as part of the stage monitor systems on the larger stages, where systems ranged from arrays of Geo S12s on the larger stages, to Alpha Series and PS15s on the smaller ones. A number of stages also used S12s as front- fills.
