Finland - Finnish rockers Sunrise Avenue used Robe LEDWash 600s and MMX Spots on their recent Big Band Theory Tour 2013 European tour which were specified by their LD, Timo Saarinen.

The 16 x LEDWash 600s and 10 MMX Spots formed the core of the lighting rig and were used for a variety of tasks and effects including washing the stage with many colours and hues, and for creating complex multi-layered effects with the MMXs.

Timo was hugely impressed with the reliability of the fixtures - which was 100% for the whole tour!

He's looking forward to using more of Robe's latest technology on upcoming festival dates this summer and also for Sunrise Avenue's ongoing touring work which is scheduled to continue into 2014.

The fixtures were supplied to the tour by Finnish rental company RMC Light & Sound based in Vantaa, who bought them from Robe's Finnish distributor, Live Nati

Indonesia - The New Wine International church in Jakarta, Indonesia, has the unusual distinction of being located on the third floor of a large shopping arcade. It is nevertheless extremely well equipped and places a big emphasis on music. Indeed, the church had planned a major Easter celebration concert which they wished to record. As a result, they turned to Innovason distributor La Mesa, who provided an Innovason Eclipse digital console equipped with the integrated M.A.R.S. 64-track digital recorder especially for the event.

"The church already has an analogue console," explained La Mesa's Didi Kartanegara, "but they felt that they would achieve better results using an Eclipse as FoH console and recorder rather than bringing in an external recorder and having to patch it to their existing console. I have to say, I agreed with them."

Canada - Associate Designer for the Times of India Film Awards, Robert Sondergaard of Electric Aura, encouraged lighting designer Atul Sonpal to go with the 1000 W Martin MAC Viper Profile instead of an originally speced 1500 W fixture, a decision that Atul and Robert proved happy with.

"Given my previous experience with the Vipers on the 2012 Grey Cup, I encouraged him to try out the Vipers instead," Robert Sondergaard stated. "I was very impressed with their speed and output and I knew he would be as well."

The Vipers were hung on three set arches as well as the furthest upstage truss where they worked as top color and gobo wash onto the stage.

The MAC Viper Profile is an award-winning fixture whose 26,0000 lumens of power outperforms that of market-leading profiles in the 1200-watt range and is even finding service as an alternative to 1500-watt

USA - Rihanna's much anticipated Diamonds world tour kicked off in early March for 27 dates peppered across the U.S. and Canada through May - with more dates on the global horizon stretching into the fall. With Eighth Day Sound at the production helm, the audio kit included a pair of SD7s and a d&b audiotechnik PA provided by Eighth Day Sound, with Kyle Hamilton at FOH and Ed Ehrbar on monitors.

Last October, the group undertook an intense promotional tour (7-7-7) hitting seven countries in seven days for seven shows. Eighth Day supplied four complete control systems-two in Europe; one in the U.S. and another in Mexico City-so the engineers were able to simply walk in and mix. Although Ehrbar was working on an SD7 for the whirlwind week, Hamilton had to make do with another digital desk and was happy to be back on the SD7.

UK - Ross Ashton and The Projection Studio have designed and co-ordinated a permanent 270 degree video projection installation featuring an adaptation of their highly successful work Illuminata at Caerphilly Castle in Wales for CADW, the official guardian of the built heritage of Wales.

The show was originally a large format projection extravaganza created by Ashton and projected onto two buildings in the Castle's main courtyard for two short festival events in 2010 and 2011. This proved so popular and accessible that CADW wanted to integrate it as a lasting tribute to the colourful history of the Castle which could be enjoyed by the public all year round.

Says Ashton, "I was very honoured to be asked to revise the show to run as a permanent work. It's fantastic to see it have another lease of life and the chance to connect with so many more people in this re-worke

UK - XL Events supplied LED screen for the UK premiere of Iron Man 3 - the latest installment of the blockbuster Paramount Pictures and Marvel Enterprises franchise - at an event staged in London's Leicester Square.

To display logos and character images from the movie, the design called for vertical LED "banners" which towered above the waiting crowds in the Square's gardens. Each banner was 3m high and mounted on a 2m high plinth to ensure that the LED was visible from all around the cinema.

XL Events supplied 147 tiles of Pixled FX-11 outdoor LED which was rigged in XL's special 3x2 touring frames - allowing the LED tiles to be pre-cabled ahead of installation - saving valuable time on the day.

Working in the gardens of Leicester Square proved challenging due to the soft ground in the grassy areas, which meant all the LED had to be manually lifted into pla
