With a significant change in direction to meet the needs of the professional installation sector, Chauvet's brand new 'Q Series' and 'Legend' products bring a whole host of high quality moving heads, scanners and colour washes with aggressive pricing set to have a real impact on the market.
The new Q Series includes an ever-increasing line of mirror and barrel scanners, moving yoke spots and washes from 150W right through to 575W. Leading the Q Series range, the Q-Spot 575 features colours, motorised focus, vector movement, full range dimming and 16-bit resolution, lending itself to high-end club install applications. The 16-channel unit comes equipped with an intense 575-watt HMI lamp with a life expectancy of up to 1,000 hours. The head moves smoothly within a range of 540 degrees of pan and 270 degrees of tilt. The colour wheel offers eight solid dichroic colours, one split colour and one quad colour plus white and effectuates rainbow spins bi-directionally. There are two gobo wheels: a nine-slot static wheel and a six-slot indexed rotating wheel. Both rotate bi-directionally at variable speed. Multiple gobos can be morphed to produce a myriad of scenic effects. Q-Spot 575 comes fitted with 15 gobos, including three glass, plus another five spare gobos.
The full Q Series currently includes Q-Spot 575, Q-Spot 250, Q-Wash250, Q-Spo150, Q-Mix, Q-Scan and Q-Roll 250s, and Q-Scan and Q-Roll 150s.
Chauvet have also introduced the latest versions of their flagship Legend Series to enhance dimmer/shutter functions, accelerate colour and gobo changes, bring more flexibility to pan and tilt movements and add Chauvet's signature 'Gobo Bounce' effect in select moving yokes.
The shutter and dimmer can now function in tandem and dimming is reversible. Fade in /Fade out and random strobing capability have been added to the shutter function. Pan and tilt movements can now be set from channel 1 to channel 4.
All three Legends now also sport an LED-lit DMX signal indicator. In the loss of DMX signal, fixtures go back to '0' position in five seconds. The display setting is now reversible to allow easier reading when fixtures are hung. The three yokes move smoothly within 570 degrees of pan and 270 degrees of tilt. Optical encoders monitor movement and automatically re-align the heads in the event of an inadvertent change in position.
The Legend Series includes Legend 6000X Moving Yoke Colour Wash and Legend 5000X and 3000X Moving Yoke Spots.
