UK - Cirrus Research has introduced the CR:260A series of sound level meters. Suitable for a wide range of applications, from noise at work assessments to vehicle noise testing and environmental noise measurements, Cirrus' CR:260A sound level meters are easy to use, yet capable of meeting sophisticated modern noise measurement guidelines, says the company.

There are eight meters in the new series, all of which are operated with single function buttons. Each is capable of taking A and C weighted measurements for HML applications and machinery noise testing. Available in Class 1 or Class 2 accuracy Cirrus' CR:260A sound level meters comply with the latest IEC 61672 measurement standard as well as IEC 60651 and IEC 60804.

They include the option of data download to a PC via a USB connection, and the ability to take measurements which will help to identify the most appropriate hearing protection. Cirrus' Deaf Defier3 software, which interprets these readings and helps in the selection of hearing protection (PPE), is supplied as standard. The range also includes the CR:261S Sound Level Meter, which is capable of Vehicle Noise Testing with PTB Type Approval.

"Our new 260A sound level meters are an ideal choice for any health and safety and noise at work application", said James Tingay of Cirrus Research. "Easy to use and robustly built, these new sound level meters will help organisations keep within the letter of the law with regard to noise safety and help users to select appropriate ear protection."
