UK - The latest Take That music video, Shine, is one of the first designs to feature the Chroma-Q Color Web125, a new higher resolution version of the multi-purpose LED web visual effects system.

The video is the second single from the band's number one, million selling album Beautiful World, and sees them performing in an 1920's style musical featuring top hats and tails, and a host of showgirls.

Production design was by Lisa Hall, with direction by Justin Dickel of Streetlight Films. When Hall wanted a unique visual element to provide a 'big look' for the song's uplifting finale, she contacted entertainment technology distributor A.C. Lighting. After reviewing a number of LED solutions at A.C.'s head office, the production team were convinced that the Chroma-Q Color Web 125 offered them the most powerful solution for their creative vision.

With only a single day in the studio, the crew had just 20 minutes to rig the screen. Color Web was therefore ideal for the tight production schedule due to its lightweight design, which made it very fast and easy to hang whilst still delivering the big look they were after.

The Color Web was configured as an LED screen which forms the first level of a temple above the staircase, and projects a large sunrise with rays of light scrolling out in all directions as the band and showgirls descend the steps. The Color Web was controlled by PixelMAD software running a custom image specified by the designer, which was then animated using the powerful effects of the media server.

Lisa Hall, production designer, says: "I'm really pleased with the end result. The Color Web was integral to achieving the high production values of the set's big look finale, and gives the impression our budget was ten times what we actually spent. It's a very versatile product."

With its unique modular and semi-transparent design, the Chroma-Q Color Web provides unlimited flexibility and new creative possibilities for designers when it comes to creating visual effects. The new Color Web 125 provides 64 individually addressable colour mixing LED cells with a pitch of 125mm, complementing the existing Color Web 250 and providing greater resolution for displaying more detailed video content.
