The Versa Tile, or Lightguide, modules represent a milestone in electronic design. Edge-lit by LEDs these can be built up to create large ambient displays with dynamic video effects. CT Germany believe that the number of applications in which the Versa Lightguide can be used creatively is virtually limitless. This includes trade fairs, events, conferences, TV studios, concerts - and virtually any architectural/design context.
Creative Technology's Graham Andrews first saw the product at an Electronic Arts presentation during the E3 games expo in Los Angeles. He was so impressed that he requested Versa Lightguide to be placed on demonstration display during CT Germany's 'Open House'. One of the companies who immediately took a keen interest was SAAB, who are always looking to provide creative solutions.
Matt Ward, the developer/manufacturer, praised the forward-thinking approach of CT Germany MD, Georg Rössler. "He is a terrific customer to work with - he understands the technology and sees it in a way that a lot of video people struggle to."
The advantages of the Versa Lightguide system, he says, are the relatively low running cost, its range of rich colours and the fact that it's a reflective lightsource rather than a direct view, producing an entirely different quality of light. "You can see different patterns and textures and walk right up to it without the light hurting - which makes it extremely designer-friendly."
The Versa Lightguide modules and processor are immediately available for rental projects and fixed installations. As a global supplier for AV technology, CT Creative Technology Germany offers technical conception, planning, realization and service for projects worldwide.
