The tour is performed exclusively using loudspeakers drawn primarily from D.A.S. Audio's Aero Series 2 and Stage Monitor Series product groups. The band's tour commenced 5 March in Worcester, MA, U.S.A. and included performances in Greece, Switzerland, England, Sweden, Portugal, and The Netherlands before concluding in Madrid, Spain.
Joey DeMaio, bass guitarist and founder of Manowar and president of Magic Circle Music, commented, "This union was brought about because of our mutual desire to set new standards in live sound reproduction-proving that live music can be both 'louder than hell' and crystal clear."
The D.A.S. Audio loudspeaker setup for the Battle Hymns 2011 tour varies somewhat from performance to performance (based upon the venue, its capacity, and other factors), but includes a substantial equipment setup no matter where the band performs. As an example, at the 25 March concert at Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, the system included 24 D.A.S. Aero 50 three-way line array elements flown 12 units per side as the house mains. The loudspeakers were driven by six Lab Gruppen FP10000Q power amplifiers with an LM26 digital audio loudspeaker processor from Lake Processing handling loudspeaker management tasks.
Augmenting this setup, four D.A.S. Audio Aero 12A powered, two-way mid-high line array elements served in a front-fill capacity. These loudspeakers were positioned across the front of the stage. For side-fill purposes, three Aero 50 enclosures per left-right side - amplified and processed using Lab Gruppen / Lake Processing hardware - were accompanied by three LX-218A powered subwoofers per side. Three D.A.S. Audio SM-15A 2-way, multipurpose stage monitors completed the loudspeaker arsenal.
"This is the most amazing PA system I have ever used," said DeMaio after performing with a specially imported D.A.S. Audio sound system in Cleveland, OH. "The company's commitment to excellence is second to none."
During Musikmesse 2011 in Frankfurt, D.A.S. Audio will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special private event that will include an exclusive performance by Manowar. Here, D.A.S. Audio's guests and business associates will have the opportunity to experience, first-hand, the power and clarity of D.A.S. loudspeaker systems, says the company.
Robert Giner, D.A.S. Audio's marketing director comments, "The year 2011 marks a milestone achievement for us. Our partnership with Manowar and Magic Circle Music has provided us with the opportunity to show music enthusiasts as well as professionals all over the world our many varied product lines and their varied capabilities."
