The latest live music restaurant and bar in the Timbre Group
Singapore - SWITCH by Timbre, the latest live music restaurant and bar in the Timbre Group is a 300-seat, bilingual venue that sets the stage for the best up-and-coming Singaporean musicians proficient in Mandarin and English pop-rock and offers live performances nightly. As the third Timbre property to utilize D.A.S. Audio loudspeaker systems, SWITCH by Timbre relies on a potent sound reinforcement system drawn from the company's Aero Series 2, Road, and Avant loudspeaker product lines.

As with the other Timbre locations, D.A.S. Audio's Singapore's office was actively involved in the design and specification of the sound system at SWITCH by Timbre. In addition to the deployment of a substantial number of D.A.S. Audio's Aero Series 2 loudspeaker enclosures, this new facility is the first installation in Singapore to utilise the company's new Road Series products, the stage monitors specifically designed for live music environment.

The house main setup consists of eight D.A.S. Audio Aero 8A powered ultra-compact, two-way line array modules. These loudspeakers are flown four enclosures per side using the company's AX-Aero8 flybars - one for each loudspeaker cluster. Each Aero 8A incorporates a Class D 2-channel power amplifier providing 250 watts for the low frequency transducer and 100 watts for the high frequency driver.

The sound system's low end punch is derived from three D.A.S. Audio LX-215A powered band-pass subwoofers. Featuring an 1800 watt Class D power amplifier in each enclosure, the three subwoofers are ground stacked in a centre-mono subwoofer configuration.

Further into the audience area, three D.A.S. Audio Avant 15A compact, full-range loudspeaker systems are deployed. Featuring a 600 watt Class D power amplifier that provides extended bandwidth, improved dynamic range, and exceptionally low distortion, these enclosures serve the all-important function of delay fills - thus ensuring that the music penetrates thoroughly throughout the house.

Up on the stage, performers are treated to a combination of D.A.S. Road 12A powered, 2-way stage monitors plus an Avant 12A multi-purpose loudspeaker. The four D.A.S. Road Series enclosures serve as the stage monitors while the Avant 12A multi-purpose loudspeaker serves as the drum monitor. A D.A.S. Audio DSP-4080 4-in / 8-out digital signal processor handles loudspeaker management chores.

Eduardo Lopez, business operations manager for D.A.S. Audio Asia, commented on the success of the new system at SWITCH by Timbre: "We are particularly pleased with the close ties our company has developed with Timbre Group due to their passion for Live Music. At all their outlets with our systems, we know our loudspeakers are put to the test every night with a variety of music performance styles... and our systems respond musically and with even coverage throughout the house.
