The concert was held at the Agora esplanade next to the Hemisféric building at Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences, an unbeatable open-air setting where over 20,000 fans gathered for an evening of great music. As in years past, an array of D.A.S. systems were rolled out for this popular event, with 32 D.A.S. Aero 50 line array systems rigged for the main system. Two linear formations of 16 Aero 50s each were flown on either side of the stage in a classic left/right configuration.
For low frequency boost the Aero 50's were matched with 28 powered D.A.S. LX-218CA subwoofers, ground stacked in front of the stage in eight blocks of three units each, with an additional four enclosures set up to boost the sound centre stage. D.A.S. Convert Series systems were brought in to ensure clear sound for those "down-in-front" fans with six Convert 12A powered systems mounted on tripods in front of the stage.
On stage, an army of D.A.S. Audio 15" Road 15A and 12" Road 12A powered monitors were deployed for the performers. Side fill was handled by three Convert 12As stacked on two LX-218CA subwoofers set up on either side of the stage to provide magnificent on-stage response.
Once again 40 POP, sponsored by Cadena Ser through its Top 40 radio programme (and inspiration for the event's name), has confirmed its status as one of the most important concerts on Valencia's music scene.
