HRT, the national public broadcaster of the Republic of Croatia, has been using V+MOTE extensively for their journalists in the field for live contributions from the various Olympic sites in and around Vancouver back to the studios in Zagreb, without the need for cumbersome additional IP audio hardware.
V*MOTE is an audio-over-IP software solution for remote contributions - usually a journalist in the field reporting back to a studio, as was the case here. By simply installing V*MOTE onto any laptop PC, it becomes a professional "contribution" codec. Advanced ergonomics make it extremely simple to set up and operate, enabling the journalist to establish a connection with a newsroom or studio at the touch of a button.
HRT's reporters were able to establish full-duplex connections with the studios in Zagreb with no effort at all. Vedran Begovic, head of development and maintenance at HRT reports, "My colleagues in the field reported zero operational issues and were pleasantly surprised by the overall sound quality we could get on a simple ADSL line.
"For reporters in the field, V*MOTE is really a must-have solution as it completely eliminates the need for extra bulky equipment - all they need is their regular laptop, and with that they were mobile, live, and providing our audience with great reports."
