UK - Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd. (DNP) today announces the launch of an NXT-enabled version of its award-winning front projection screen, the Crystal Illusion Screen. It is able to display a bright and crisp picture, even in a well-lit room, and uses NXT's SoundVu technology to deliver sound directly from the images, achieving audio-visual synchronicity.

The Screen first debuted in September of 2005, driven by the major growth of LCD, plasma and rear projection televisions in the large scale display television and home theatre markets. Previous matt type screens were unable to clearly display images in a bright room, resulting in their usage being restricted to business conference settings and home theatres. However, DNP's Crystal Illusion Screen uses liquid crystals to efficiently reflect light from the projector while absorbing all other light, achieving the same level of image quality as LCD and plasma displays.

Cooperating with Authentic Ltd. in development and manufacturing, DNP's latest version of the Crystal Illusion screen uses NXT's SoundVu, enabling the projection screen to become the loudspeaker itself by 'exciting' the surface. The vibrations are undetectable to the naked eye so the image quality is preserved while high quality sound is produced. SoundVu's immersive audio enhances the Screen's impressive visual display, delivering a truly synchronised audio-visual experience.

The Screen won the 2005 Gold Award in Display Component of the Year at the Society for Information Display's (SID) Display of the Year Awards. SoundVu won the Silver Award in the same category in 2003.

The 46inch Crystal Illusion Screen is floor-standing but can also be suspended from the ceiling. It goes on sale in Japan, Europe, the US and the rest of Asia in October.
