Theatrical projects have included West End shows, installations for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and the servicing of ongoing existing touring theatrical shows. Kinesys equipment is increasingly finding its way onto high profile events like the Chanel fashion show at Paris Fashion Week, and work at both the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Opera House.
International shows as diverse as Showboat and War of the Worlds have benefited from the huge flexibility of Kinesys' motor control, and the equipment is regularly working in the USA, France, Belgium and Spain.
Concert touring continues to be a driving force behind Kinesys' success. Current and recent tours benefiting from using Kinesys equipment include The Rolling Stones, U2, Robbie Williams, Depeche Mode, Muse, Roger Waters and the highly acclaimed Take That re-union tour.
Following the launch of its 'K2' flagship software product at PLASA 2005, Kinesys unveils several new innovations this year to expand their range of products.
Chief amongst these is the Elevation Beam Trolley system. As a compliment to the Elevation Chain Hoist system, the Beam Trolley adds a new dimension to the Elevation range. As with the chain hoist systems, the trolley is based around a standard 'off the shelf' motorised trolley offering easy access to spare parts and matching 'slave' trolleys.
Similar to the hoist conversion, a simple electrical modification allows the trolley to be plugged into the Kinesys Elevation 1+ controller, providing variable speed control and positioning of the trolley. The same Elevation 1+ controller can be used for both trolleys and a whole range of hoists making it one of the most flexible systems available.
Two new communications distribution products will also be on show at the stand. The first is the Array IP, an 8 port 10/100 Ethernet switch, complete with industry standard Ethercon connections, all packaged in a compact 1U 19" rack.
The second, the Array 485, provides distribution for the RS485 communications network used by the Elevation system. Listening to feedback from users wanting a product to allow them more flexibility when cabling increasingly large systems, the 1-in-8-out Array 485 was created, offering the indication of link and data connections plus the facility to plug a handheld controller straight into the hub for local hoist control.
Central to the stand will be K2, Kinesys' 3D motion control programming and playback system. This powerful program allows complex cues to be programmed and played back visually on screen to give instant feedback. The ability to work with the flying pieces directly and not the individual motors and winches makes the system very intuitive and easy to use.
