Germany - ProLight&Sound 2003: EAW added its own creation to the growing compact line array market, in the form of the SLAM (Small Line Array Module) KF730. The SLAM system consists of the KF730, a horn-loaded three-way bi-amplified box that, according to EAW, is capable of greater output than any other three-way system near its compact size, and the companion SB730 subwoofer. The modular SLAM system can be easily configured for venues ranging from 100 seats to several thousand. Each KF730 contains two 10" neodymium low frequency cone drivers, two 7" mid frequency cone drivers and two 1" exit neodymium high frequency compression drivers. Power handling for the low frequency is rated at 700W, while the mid and high frequency subsystem is 350W. Impedance for both low and mid/high subsystems is 16 Ohms, which means a single two-channel amplifier can bi-amplify up to eight KF730s. The SB730 subwoofer is equally compact and is designed to fly above or stack below the KF730.
