Features of the new upgrade include WYSIWYG Report, which adds the power of WYSIWYG's 3D CAD engine to the flexible paperwork that other users have been used to. Users can draw venues, sets and lighting in three dimensions and utilize WYSIWYG's fixture, truss and accessory libraries, while the integrated paperwork and plotting functions simplify the printed output process. WYSIWYG Design gives users access to WYSIWYG's powerful rendering engine to create photorealistic pictures of designs. With Design Mode, users create virtual lighting looks without the need for a console, using the designer tools to control the fixtures. This is in addition to the 3D CAD tools and paperwork functions already familiar to users. WYSIWYG Perform offers all the pre-cueing features of previous versions of WYSIWYG but is even more sophisticated. Shaded Views now use OpenGL technology for faster, more realistic simulation of beams and gobos. The new rendering engine includes the ability to calculate light bounce from surfaces as well as the position of the sun and moon for outdoor productions.
Every WYSIWYG upgrade comes with a one-year subscription, which includes access to quarterly software and library updates produced by Cast Software, as well as unlimited technical support from ETC. (Sarah Rushton-Read)
