UAE - PALME Middle East will celebrate its tenth anniversary when the 2012 edition takes place from May 1-3 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

PALME Middle East exhibition director Richard Brook brings the added experience of having piloted last year's inaugural Middle East EVENT Show. Attracting professionals from both the corporate (MICE) and concert staging sectors, organisers, Informa Exhibitions, will this year run the two events side by side at DICEC - and Brook believes this will create "an enormous synergy".

However, he adds, "While the live event market contributes millions of dollars to the local economy, the AV integration sector is also enjoying a period of growth right across the GCC." Blackout was called in by event agency George P. Johnson for the fifth year running, using drapes across the venue to create bespoke areas for the conference's popular Breakout Sessions, including the creation of three rooms in Capital Hall and a further eight in the South Hall.

USA - Lee Rose, of the Los Angeles-based lighting design firm Design Partners, has been handling the lighting for America's time-honoured Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve show more than 25 years. Over the course of that quarter century he has developed a reputation for incorporating some of the latest dynamic lighting gear into his designs.

For this year's 40th Anniversary show, he turned to Martin Professional's new and award-winning MAC Aura wash light to give New Year's Rockin' Evethat something special.
