Audio Concept offers a complete audio system service from initial consultation and planning, through to installation. Robert Grubstad of Audio Concept has been working with Genelec monitors for many years and was well aware of their potential as residential loudspeakers as well as for multichannel purposes:
"When we chose the Illusonic IAP 16, a unique multichannel processor, we knew we would need a good speaker to match," he says. With the combination of Illusonic and Genelec, we were able to create a 15.2 system which is the ultimate way for customers to experience a multichannel performance as it is meant to be heard, while also hearing the details of the room in which the piece was recorded."
The 15.2 system installed at the showroom is made up of 12 Genelec G Three speakers, three Genelec G Four speakers and two Genelec 7050B sub monitors. A major challenge for Robert when designing the 15.2 system was to make it simple enough that it would appeal to customers of all types. "The risk is the system becomes too elaborate and can end up alienating some customers. The advantage of the G Series in this scenario is they are active monitors which minimises the need for additional 'boxes'. They are also competitively priced, reliable and sound great," he adds.
