The party is set to attract some of Brazil's highest profile celebrities as well as international football stars Cafu, Hernane and Clarence Seedorf; who are also giving speeches during the live broadcast event. ESPN, FOX and GLOBO will all be airing the unveiling alongside 47 other broadcasters.
This is the first large-scale football launch party for Adidas and the first detailed video mapping of the Parque Lage mansion.
Adidas have created special 'FIFA tournament balls' since 1970. The name "brazuca" is an informal term that describes the Brazilian way of life.
The visual narrative for the 3D projection was developed through creative discussion with Adidas and their agency Hill & Knolton Solutions.
Immersive is a skilled design house with years of experience in corporate parties and live broadcast. "Their sophisticated creative solutions together with their highly professional production team made them uniquely able to handle this extraordinary event," a statement reads.
John Munro, co-founder and the creative director of Immersive, adds: "This has been a fantastic project for Immersive. We were brought in from the project's inception, through to developing concepts and storyboards, to final finished audio and video designs. It is a great feat alongside all the technical challenges of directing and producing all technical aspects of a projection mapped project overseas in Rio. We are particularly proud of this project and how we have managed to create a visual narrative with Adidas's legacy footballs together with this new World Cup ball. The concept is a strong one and we were particularly pleased to work on a project with such a long history and back story."
